The Summer Trip Program
Every Fall, The Air Force looks for Electrical, Computer and Environmental engineering students interested in an internship opportunity that allows them to work for the Air Force Research Lab(AFRL) during the summer between their sophomore and junior year of college.
Visit the Air Force bases
Selected interns will work at Air Force bases throughout the United States, for a 10 week period. In addition to paying interns a salary of approximately $4500, the Air Force will also pay for round-trip airfare, lodging and living expenses and rental vehicle costs.
Students who complete the program may be offered a follow-on Air Force ROTC scholarship. This scholarship can pay up to $15,000 per year for tuition, an annual textbook allowance and a $300-$400 non-taxable monthly stipend.
Opportunity for the Future
Not only does this program offer the benefits of resume-worthy experience, competitive pay and scholarship opportunity, it also lays the foundation for career opportunities as either an Engineering Officer in the United States Air Force, or Department of Defense Civilian Employment with the Air Force Research Laboratory.
Deadline
