Air Force ROTC Det 150

College Life

Being a college student is unlike any other time in your life. You're not a kid anymore but you're not locked into all the routines and responsibilities of adulthood either. Sure, college should be intellectually challenging, but it should also be fun. Air Force ROTC will only enhance the college experience.

You'll live just like any other student. Live in the dorm or live off-campus. Join a fraternity or sorority. Play intramural sports. The difference will be in the elective courses you take. Your Air Force ROTC courses will translate into a minor in aerospace studies.

Freshmen and Sophomores have Air Force ROTC classes and Leadership Labs for three hours each week, while juniors and seniors have five hours. Air Force ROTC courses will cover topics like manned flight, the development of aerospace power, the nature of conflict and how U.S military forces are employed.

You will be busy as an Air Force ROTC Cadet. When you include the 2 hours of physical fitness training, social events and general preparation, Cadets spend an average of eight to ten hours per week in Air Force ROTC related activities.

If you choose, during summer breaks you may have the opportunity to gain extra experience through fully funded field trips: Intern at the Pentagon. Learn to fly a glider. Go parachuting. Travel to Russia. Tour a base. Go through combat survival training - All paid for by Air Force ROTC.
